Haven’t posted any of this in a long time. I’ve got others on the way, but these two are blooming right now. Stanhopea oculata is a species that has approximately 3″ wide blooms that only last a few days, but smell intensely of vanilla. I bought it last year from Oak Hill Gardens. The other one is a floofy hybrid cattleya (Laeliocattleytonia), Lcnta. Happy Face ‘H&R’. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of hybrids, but this one smells fantastic. Most of my orchids don’t smell like much of anything, so it’s sort of nice, even if it is floofy.
Pics after the cut.
So beautiful!
