Hat tip: B Thoughtful
Details are over at B’s Blogspot.
Tin Foil Dave actually spent the time to add a few words here and there to Ms. Brewer’s story before calling the renamed story his own, and incorporating it into not one, not two, but three of his books available for sale on Lulu.
This guy just gets worse and worse. One of those books also contains the Dean Koontz story that Davey previously plagiarized, and was forced to take down. Well, it’s b-a-a-a-ck!
I guess he thinks he can get away with it since nothing was really done about it from Koontz’s people. Not knocking Koontz at all, just thinking that Boyer needs a slapdown quick, because it’s really out of control now.
Interesting that he included his interview with Ramsey Campbell in one of the books after what he said about that author.
I hadn’t noticed that until you mentioned it, but you’re right. As I recall, Mr. Campbell specifically asked Boyer to remove that interview from another book, and stop using it.
Indeed! This was the email exchange:

subject Ramsey Campbell interview
Since you’re inviting emails, I should like to withdraw the interview you conducted with me. I don’t want to see it used to help your reputation appear legitimate.
Sincerely –
Ramsey Campbell
David Boyer’s response:
No problem, Mr. Campbell. I wouldn’t want to soil your reputation by using the lousy, boring interview you gave me almost three years ago. You dragged your dead ass all over that interview as though you were in a cathartic coma, ready to purge your bowels at any moment. If you weren’t interested in the first place, why did you do it? I didn’t need your ”help” in getting established. Since that pathetic interview, I have conducted over 300 more. And, without your assistance.”
Actually, I tried to post this on B’s blog as a comment yesterday, but it seems to be lost in space.
Since he used the interview anyway even after that email, can anything be done against him?
“I didn’t need your ”help” in getting established. I could do copy and paste all by myself.”
“I have conducted over 300 more. And, without your assistance. Or the assistance of the interviewees. ”
Maybe people should start featuring “interviews” with Tinfoil, without his knowledge or even words on their blogs. What’s he going to do? Request they be stopped and removed? Complain he never gave permission?
Now that I’ve had a day to ruminate on what questions I would ask Davey, I think I could come up with a pretty interesting fake interview. Even if it was totally comedic, I probably would not post it, unless I made it abundantly clear that it was fake — like a Saturday Night Live skit.
You could make it clear, but what would happen if you didn’t? Lawyers? It’d be like that episode of COPs where a woman called the police because she didn’t receive the crack she paid for and was arrested.
What about an article that interviews all of the people he ripped off? Were it to make it to a magazine…
He likely confused cathartic with catatonic, making for a pretty funny malapropism. I remember his reply being quite rude, but that was over the top.
It’s fascinating that he’s doing this so blatantly after being caught numerous times red handed. It’s almost like he can’t stop until the law does so forcibly.
Actually it’s more fascinating that he would plagiarize anything that Nicky wrote. It’s like being jealous not of your neighbor’s lawn, but the piles of dog crap that’s on them.
I think it’s a cat and mouse game to Tin Foil.
As for the dog shit analogy, that had me ROFL.
Don’t get me wrong the guy is a sleezeball, but it amazes me that he keeps doing it.
How many times have people been caught doing something like that, only to apologize, pull whatever they did off of whatever sites, and disappear?
Well, it may be that Koontz’s lawyers just told him to pull that story. If they find out he’s plagiarizing it again…
Hmm! Yesterday 16 TERRORS had any number of Internet listings, but now it’s gone as if it had never been.
Is there anything Tin Foil won’t plagiarize? This time, it’s lesbian erotica:

LOL
especially since he tore into me over my sexual orientation.
Considering how he denies any of his plagiarizing, I’m guessing that’s not the only thing he’s in denial about…
Tin Foil wouldn’t do that. He’s a Christian writer, remember? (Or was that last year?)
It just occurred to me today that Davey used the same cover art for 16 Terrors that he used for Emails from the Wasteland (Volume 2), the latter of which he published through Amazon’s Createspace.
Whether or not it’s public domain art, I have no idea. I just found it to be one more thing to laugh about, regarding Tin Foil’s “recycle someone else’s work ad nauseum” mentality.

More plagiarism, this time from a Philip Carlos book called The Night Stalker. I can’t tell from B’s entry whether it’s a wholesale rip off, or a couple of passages. Either way, it still counts as another example of Tin Foil’s serial plagiarism.
And now Richard Matheson.

Yeah, I just got an email with the link to B’s entry. Talk about ballsy . . .
“B” is posting about these latest hijinks on Shocklines.
Here’s hoping Matt allows at least one of the threads to remain. Seriously, if ever that board needed to know something, that’s it.
Looks like Keene has recovered from his heart attack and is back in the saddle: http://www.briankeene.com/?p=9232
😉
Great entry, and I’m glad to hear that Brian’s back in action.
I’m too tired and achy after spending all day patching my driveway, but I’ll probably make a new entry about Davey’s latest hijinks, and Rick’s letter writing campaign to the Indiana AG, in the morning.
