I’m pretty used to waking up every morning wondering which major joint is going to be painful. Usually, it’s one of my shoulders, or a knee, or elbow. Stretch it out, and take some generic acetylsalicylic acid if the pain is bad enough. For some reason, aspirin doesn’t work too well for jaw pain. Chew on the side that hurts, and that helps. It sounds counterintuitive, but it works. No doctor needed.
I cooked the london broil perfectly — four hours simmering, so it’s not the best thing for curing TMJ. But, a slice of good, chewy rye works. Unfortunately, this is going to take a week to get rid of.
I go to a chiropractor for my TMJ and get my jaw adjusted. My dentist made me a mouth guard that I wear at night and it seems to help as well.
Aspirin doesn’t help me either. I can feel your pain.
