All was well when we returned from our mini-vacation. Of course it rained heavily on and off the whole time we were away. No harm done. We won’t melt. The vegetable garden loved it, although the ground has hit the point of saturation, so any further rain at this point will cause nothing but run-off and localized flooding.
Can anyone guess where this picture was taken? Click on the image to view it at 1024 width. This is my favorite room in the whole house. I could easily spend my mid-winter afternoons and evenings there, reading books. Add my mutt curled up by my feet to the picture, and it’s perfect.
Imagine the bodies that could be roasted in that fireplace!
LOL!
We had an eventful day in my area! A number of tornadoes in my area, including the North end of town. A picture of two of them (not taken by me)

A video slideshow of more pictures of the tornadoes. None of my family or friends were harmed, though this is quite close to where many of use live!

Stay safe, Mel.
I had the TV on the whole time, and I was watching the skies. They didn’t look scary where I was, but the scary stuff was still too close for comfort.
Sorry Nicky none of my friends and family got hurt or had any property damage in the storms for your amusement!
I really shouldn’t be laughing, but I am.
I spent most of Thursday joking around with friends and neighbors about our close calls so don’t feel too bad about laughing. 🙂
This is a Nicky story with some editing and a little more flair. Nicky has no sense of humor.

I found it amusing, but if it seems too much- I’ll take it down. It really embodies what he writes of…just taken to a better level and actually readable.
