… in Nickyland. Maybe he’s stuck hitching rides to the library to get online.
I’ve used the peace and quiet to catch up on posting orchid photos here. There are nine new entries worth of mostly species orchids, along with a couple of primary hybrids, and one complex cattleya intergeneric hybrid. Aside from those, it looks like my Phragmipedium Schroederae is spiking. Orchids won’t appeal to most of my readers here, but growing them is my hobby. Willie might enjoy them, though.
I think he’s secretly celebrating the passage of same-sex marriage in Illinois with his life partner Lloyd.
I enjoy the orchid pics because I didn’t realize just how many varieties there are, and I wish I had hte green thumb to grow some 🙂
The orchid pics are a nice break from Nicky’s shenanigans. Though personally I’m of the opinion that Nicky’s current hiatuses are linked to family being at home from work, the times he’s online seem odd for a library connection to me.
It has been nice, I’ve even been able to stay caught up on my NaNoWriMo novel, help move my step father into assisted living as well as help my Mom start packing her house up to move in with my sister.
Also have a job interview this morning, so fingers crossed!
Is it too much to hope that he got bored with the internet and decided to get that job cleaning toilets he has always dreamt of?
Short answer: yes.
He always returns, though we might be lucky and he’s off to St Joes again. Last time that happened I think we got a year of peace and quiet before he started harassing and libeling people again.
It’s been almost three weeks now, and he may be offline for a while longer. Washington, IL, and Coal City both got hit by tornadoes yesterday. Coal City, which is only one town East of Morris, had an EF2. Washington is about 35-40 miles SW of Morris; it had an EF4. Doesn’t look like Morris was hit, but depending on the layout of the power grid in his area, he may have lost electricity. Illinois is in the fairly wide swath of U.S. that runs south to the Gulf of Mexico, known as “Tornado Alley.”

I was just about to comment about that. CNN mentioned Morris in passing this morning, but I think along the lines of another town asking them for help. I was only half awake so not really paying attention.
It’s probably killing Nicky that he can’t get online to use the typhoon last week and the tornadoes this week to try to scam more people out of their hard earned money.
Ah but he can donate some of his time, clothing, food, etc., if he wishes. There are four separate places at which to drop off provisions right there in Morris:

Considering that he considers refusal to buy his books to be “stealing food off his table,” I can’t really envision him dropping off canned goods or loaves of bread. Maybe he can donate that old pair of 32″ waist black jeans he tried to sell a few years ago that are way too small for him.
ewww…I bet those are some filthy jeans!
He may be silent but his imprint lives on…I amused myself by reading the definitions he gave on Urban Dictionary. http://www.urbandictionary.com/author.php?author=UncleFossil
Best are the one for Rusty Nail and incest. He sure thinks a lot about incest. Tags are hilarious. He must feel like a kid in a candy store on that site. Juvenile dirty words abound.
And are great examples of him lacking the basic idea of what the hell that site is about.
I know he’ll be back. Like a bad case of herpes, he only ever goes into brief remission. But I admit I’m enjoying the silence. If his book goes up, however, someone please mention it, thanks.
