I posted two recipes on my food blog today. There’s one for tuna casserole, and another for buttermeal cookies. There are pictures on both entries. The casserole looks like slop, but that’s the way casseroles are supposed to look. The cookies, on the other hand, look a little more appetizing.
They’re not much more than butter, brown sugar, and oatmeal, and are supposed to be crunchy. I cadged the recipe off my granny’s next-door neighbor, about 35 years ago.
Regarding the real estate situation, our agent called today. Our bid was not outright rejected, so the negotiation dance begins. They came down x%, so we upped our bid by the same percentage. We’ll see what happens.
Not to hijack the thread, but … More of the same BS from the King and Queen of Nitwits.
The funny thing is everyone other than Dumbstain is calling Mikakke out for being stupid. Slapford Styles gets a beautiful shot in citing Ant.
I saw Dagstine bummped his own thread again. Cretin.
Did like Shrews response – This is far too silly! And it is.
Mentioning your neighbours there, Rusty, do you still have that nice weirdo knocking on your door now and then?
By now, “Brian the Sot” knows better than to ring my doorbell, and ask for rides to the liquor store or one of the pizza places. It’s pretty obvious that he doesn’t have a driver’s license, given all the cars and taxis that pull into his driveway. He rides a bicycle, not as a wannabe road cyclist, but as a means of transportation.
I’m sure he’s harmless, but neither of us wants to deal with him, unless he’s got a real emergency.
The cooking thread, and there are only nitwit comments?
Pshaw, I say!
I was making my shopping list for economical food tomorrow. I will buy ground beef and a can of peas. I already have a packet of gravy mix, half a bag of frozen corn, many onions, and half a bag of egg noodles. Combine. I don’t know what you’d call it, besides, “Hamburger and onions and gravy, combined with peas and corn and poured over egg noodles,” but that sounded good to me as I was thinking what to make! Yay!
That sounds kind of good, like a shepherd’s pie variant. Hmmm… swap out the beef for buffalo, add lots of garlic, and mix the gravy with Guinness… I’m either gonna have a hell of a meal or blow up my kitchen.
Yes, I was thinking of making shepherd’s pie, when I saw the bag of egg noodles and didn’t remember how long it’d been sitting there, so I thought it might be time to liberate it. to my tummy.
You guys are making me hungry. I snorfled around the fridge, freezer, and pantry this morning. We’ve got frozen burger, london broil, chorizo, chicken, peas and corn. Things got interesting when I found a long-forgotten packet of Thai seasoning for rice.
I’m out of jasmine basmati rice, but I have plenty of regular long grain rice, so that’ll have to do. It’s going to be arroz con pollo, Thai-style, tonight. I don’t really like rice, but can tolerate it, if I toss in some peas, corn, and onion, along with the spice mix.
My other option is mushroom risotto, but I’d have to use dried mushrooms for that, since we’re out of fresh ones. I need to make a grocery list. We’re out of practically everything but staples, and I’m not in the mood for pasta, or quiche.
