It seems Mr. Pacione’s been spending most of his time hanging out at MySpace of late. Here’s how we know: he blocked at least one person from TODP today, and I’ve received occasional reports of him denying friend requests, ever since he took the site “friends-only.”
From his “Writings from the Grave,” we have this:
. . . go visit my blog at MySpace.
From Authors Den:
The new stories been going around in the bulletins on Myspace too . . .
These are current pages that tell people to go to his MySpace, not ancient non-existent links, such as Diary-X, that he still has all over the internet.
The lessons we learn from Mr. Pacione’s technique for gaining readership are numerous:
- Disdain your readers; tell them that unless they can get on your wavelength, they’re not reading the story correctly. This may be a Philbin technique, but as far as I know, Philbin keeps it to interviews, not private email or blog comments.
- Shut off all contact with would-be readers.
- Refuse all friend requests.
- Block anyone who makes contact.
- Send nasty email to virtually everyone who comments about a story he or she has read.
- Get on the few remaining blog hosts that haven’t shut down your account for TOS violations to bitch about everyone who has nothing whatsoever to do with your problems.
- Refuse to use a dictionary, thesaurus, or Strunk & White; refuse to use spell-check and grammar-check within a word processor.
- Refuse to re-read and edit your work to correct glaring errors.
- Put out anthology after anthology with no time in-between for them to sell.
- Don’t pay your authors.
The list goes on, but that’s the bulk of it.
He probably believes that the number of people on his friends list are equivalent to the number of people that read his blogs. Unlike LJ where that is the practice, at myspace you can friend someone and not read anything on their blog. Blogs have to be subscribed to. So once more his readership is a manifestation of his delusions.
fuck ya’ll. biatches!!
down with mass market writers! remember beowoulf and grendel? print on demand is your funeral.
brian keene is a homo. man takes a steaming shit on his own fans and strokes his ego too much. fucking ragamuffin.
nick pacione is a return to traditional horror. layman’s horror. bitch ass haters!
I do hope that you’re being facetious, Dudelove. i’m an ebook author and ebooks are already burying the print on demand crowd.
I think “Dudelove” was Dagstine’s worst alt ever.
Good call, Tony.
It had me scratching my head for a moment there.
I believe that Dagstine is still a supporter of Pacione in private. I looked again at what he sent me that time at myspace. It’s posted on my xanga. I think that Dagstine is still convinced that slander and libel can destroy careers.
The facts of the matter are that it can’t. First off, the person saying it would have to be someone credible. Pacione has no credibility at all.
Secondly, there is nothing he can say about me that would affect my career one way or another. What is he going to do? Tell people that I’m gay? I’m not. I’m bisexual. I have made no secret of that.
I plagiarized Robert E. Howard? How? That one would get Pacione laughed out of the courtroom.
Frankly, if he said outright in print that Mary was a prostitute who fucked her way to print, it would probably put her books on the best seller lists. People love that kind of outrageous stuff.
Neither Dagstine nor Pacione understand what the world wants to see and read. Scandal sells books. The lookie-lous want to read all about it. And they generally pick up the books by the accused big time.
So, please accuse me, Dag and Piggy.
The fact that neither of them have the brains that god gave an ant is a constant source of amazement for me.
Thanks, Tony. I am glad you were quick to note who it was that posted.
