Yes, I know, Veteran’s Day was Tuesday, and Remembrance Day was last Sunday. What I’m about to post would probably amuse a few people who are, or know vets.
My dad is a WWII vet (Army). My uncle was a Marine. We buried him in his uniform. Once a marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi.
I have fantastic memories of my uncle. Forever the fly-boy, he enlisted when, as a teen, he failed to clear the wheels of his plane over a farm fence in Iowa. He did much better as a Marine, and later as a commercial pilot. I’m sure my cousins would agree, two of whom are excellent pilots in their own right. I’d fly with any of them.
I’d salute my dad every time I visit, except that I think he prefers hugs and kisses.
All my best to those who have served, and those who are still serving. You rock!
