We had a phenomenal thunderstorm overnight — so good, in fact, that I took a stadium blanket and pillow out to the glider on my front porch around 4am to watch it. This afternoon, I caught a swallowtail poking around what’s left of my bee balm, and snapped another picture of a hydrangea bloom.
The hydrangea’s supposed to be blue, but I didn’t give it any aluminum sulfate this year, so it got whatever leached from the concrete foundation of the house, and went pink on me. The swallowtail’s overexposed, but I didn’t have my older camera (which tends not to do that on cloudy days) on me at the time.
Hydrangea’s are one of my favs. They make the most lovely borders.
they are lovely. You have a beautiful garden.
I got lucky, with a brief interlude between t-storms. The past 24 hours have been nearly nonstop with thunder, impressive lightning, and torrential rain.
The other day there was a blue-black butterfly and a dragonfly in my garden and I couldn’t get a picture of either one. I kind of like the pink.
