In addition to posting on SL about bottom-feeding losers, Tin Foil Dave showed up on Edgy Christian Fiction Lovers to spew his special brand of love. I happen to be fine with bottom feeders; catfish, flounder and sole make for some mighty good eats. Lobster . . . prawns . . . crawdads . . . yum.
I’m curious to know what happens when he pisses off a bunch of edgy Christians.
Davey Boy is on a roll today.
I wasn’t even aware people were getting on his case in the Christian writer’s group…
Hey “Tin Foil.” You may want to check out the Book of Exodus. Specifically the part that says “Thou shalt not steal.” No allegations here, Tin Foil… You done go caught.
There’s no forum discussion whatsoever there about him, although B did comment on the blog post of his that I screengrabbed.
So, basically, “Tin Foil” is lashing out at an entire board even though one person (B) is talking about his plagiarism?
Way to nuke bridges there, Dave…
Wow, usually forum flounces are by teenagers who lose arguments.
That is some level of pathetic.
No flounder today. Today I picked up some lovely, thick fillets of cod, but I’m not sure how I want to prepare them. Suggestions?
Pack’em in dry ice and send them my way! 😛
However you do it, I’ll be there in a bit to help eat them…
I’d go with either cilantro and lime, or if you have it, grated fresh ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and teriyaki sauce, then simply bake it at 325F until it passes the poke test. There’s a way to encrust it with paper thin potato slices and pan fry it, but it’s kind of a pain.

“Magazine closing
As of November 30th, 2010, I am reluctantly closing D Doorways Magazine due to personal and health related issues. I want to thank all of the great writers and special guests who graciously agreed to appear in our pages, and I wish you all the best in the future. “
Ah, a common Nitwit excuse: I haz health issues nao!
He claims “personal and health issues” every time he closes down one of his new projects, which is almost as often as he changes his email address. I don’t think this one ever got off the ground, but as long as he got some new submissions from unsuspecting people, his mission was accomplished, anyway.
It sure is a health issue–everyone in the industry is sick to death of him!
The Schmucklines page went poof…
Here you go:

Boyer’s big thing- Stuart Yates tipped me off to this- is that every time he smells disaster coming he claims illness of either him, a family member, a carp floating by in a nearby stream hoping people will lay off him. I’ve been collecting his health excuses and financial claims now. On the health front (short version) high blood pressure, failed liver, broken ribs, broken ankles, and, well, you get the picture.
Financially he’s always claiming he’s broke so he won’t have to pay anything out, but I should have detailed financial breakdowns of his book sales through various outlets so that writers he stiffing on royalties, royalties he’s made by stealing from other writers and contributor’s copies he was given and mysteriously forgot to distribute will be made plain. Then we’ll see how much Boyer owes those of us he cheated.
Remember how he set up his Leo Wolfe account on SL to claim he was from Chicago? I found this at the Darkened Doorways site: http://prodigiesoffiction.webs.com/apps/profile/64010249/
Doesn’t tell us anything new, but it sure confirms what we already knew, that Davey denied.
Darned straight, Rusty!
Edgy Christian Fiction’s response was to suspend my account. My IP address must be blocked since I can’t even access the web site to see if they deleted my response to David Boyer or if David Boyer has been suspended too. I’d appreciate screen captures if anyone visits Boyer’s page on Edgy Christians.
Also, I have a new posting on my blog. If you have the time, check it out: http://b-thoughtful.blogspot.com/2010/11/email-where-david-boyer-lies-about-leo.html
Looks like he still has an account, but the blog rants are gone. Best that I can tell, anyway.
Thanks for the update Jerrod.
can’t those two who spent 500 bucks and never got their copies, complain to paypal with a buyer dispute? Surely paypal would force him to pay it back.
You’re kidding, right?
Theoretically, it can. However, it practice it never does, Sam.
There’s a time limit on Paypal disputes. I think it’s 90 days IIRC.
well I had a similar problem. All they would have to do would open a disbute with paypal and provide proof of payment. Paypal would freeze his account until the issue was resolved.
Karen’s right about the time limit. All those stalling tactics Boyer used last summer with Stuart and the other guy were geared toward making them wait until it was too late to make a claim. Boyer mentioned somewhere that he didn’t want PayPal freezing his account again, so it’s happened at least once before. Of course, unless he keeps a balance with PayPal, rather than transferring the money to his bank account when it comes in, there really isn’t anything to freeze. I don’t think PayPal can freeze money held elsewhere, especially if the money ends up in another bank account that isn’t linked to PayPal.
fair enough on the bank account thing, but they would freeze his account regardless of the balance. They would take it into minus whatever.
We had a joker buy my perfectly good laptop from me gave us good feedback thanked us loads then 2 weeks later opened up a dispute saying it had faulted (nothing to do with us it was determined) But when the dispute was opened I had a few pounds in my account and they held the amount the laptop had sold for taking my acount into -£145 eventually it was resolved and it was given back, but that money wasn’t in my paypal balance so I’m not entirely sure how it would have worked if they had favored the other guy.
I gues your right about the time limit though.
I’m pretty happy with Paypal’s dispute center overall. I’ve always had buyer protection when I bought off Ebay, for instance. But, of course, if you purchase or sell through them, you need to stay up on the transaction. If something goes wrong, you’ve got to act sooner rather than later.
If you want action against Boyer for royalties not paid, books or magazines paid for or not sent or whatever, go to
http://12.186.81.50/ConsumerComplaintForm/ConsumerComplaintForm.htm
and file a complaint with the Attorney General of Indiana. The more of us that file, the better. They really came down on a publisher named Caswell from Indianapolis 3 months ago and they’ll do the same to Davey if you file.
There is a nitwit update on David Boyer at http://watchfires.blogspot.com/2010/12/david-boyer-look-alike-contest.html
