Yeah, I know the song’s been around for decades. But this is the best rendition with 60’s cars. I don’t like the station wagon, but the rest of them are cool. I want that white convertible.

It is a great song. Most of the cars were from the 50s, and all Chevys. Lots of shots of that ’55 BelAir, a couple from ’58 or so, and I believe a ’53 Corvette. Only the ’61 Impala (? Hard to tell for sure due to the graininess of the shot) filmed from behind and the highway scene near the end (shot in at the earliest ’65, based on the Chevy II (?) in the right lane) were from the 60s. The station wagon was a ’55 BelAir. Thanks for sharing. I loves me some classic cars, and some classic rock und roll.
You’re right. It was a typo. That’s my story, anyway — and I’m sticking to it. 😉
BTW, if I have the year right, might want to pass on the white convertible. The ’53 ‘Vette was badly underpowered and had several serious design flaws that were corrected a couple of years later. Hold out for the ’55, instead.
Or go for a ’61 Wildcat. My cousins’ other cousins had one. Cruising around Dubuque in that thing was fun, and it didn’t have any trouble climbing the hills.
When my mother found out she was pregnant with my older sister, she made my father trade in his ’72 Corvette for a station wagon.
That’s just . . . cruel.
I do miss my ’88 Saab hatchback, but it didn’t have ABS or turbo, and the back seat was a real bitch to unhook and flip down. The AC didn’t work so well either, although that got corrected in later models. The ’99 was really sweet, but it was a tight fit in that absurdly narrow garage I had. I’m less thrilled with my ’08, but mostly because Saab abandoned hatchbacks. Oh well, the F-150 can haul a load, if we need to.
Overall, my favorite car was the ’79 Audi 5000. That car could move, and the 5-cylinder engine made a very distinctive noise. The ’72 Rover 3500 was not underpowered by any means, but it was an ugly car, and the clutch was rather clunky.
Meanwhile, on Sucklines: http://shocklinesforum.yuku.com/topic/19168/Stokers-Strokers-Lame-dom?page=1#.TgYV2GF_D8E
Campbell — whomever he may be — got shot down pretty quick. I love how this blatant sock-puppet is attempting to call out the StrokerAwards on Twitter without putting his own name on his posts.
Pathetic.
I see Attentionwhore got in a jab at BurkeStevens, and even namedropped Pacione and Boyer out of the blue, before Matty locked the thread. I swear, some people go out of their way looking to be offended by something.
