Did I call this, or what? I just knew Nicky would get around to updating his Gofundme for a ninth time to beg for money because of another family member’s surgery.
The best line:
… instead of begging I am trying to do something that helps other ways too as my cousin had to undergo surgery of the knee and I might be the sole breadwinner for awhile.
Being on the dole is not being a “breadwinner.” What he really means is that his cousin might be without a paycheck for a few weeks, so Nicky won’t be able to cadge money off him. So far, he’s holding off begging for money to buy his family Christmas presents. Maybe that’ll show up in a later update (#10), when it dawns on him that he can’t afford postage to send his family in FL copies of his own books and used DVDs.
In any event, I fail to see how asking strangers on the internet to give him money is not “begging.” The fact that his cousin had surgery, if true, is irrelevant. It’s not Nicky’s bill to pay. However, since his cousin is the only one in the household who has a job, it does have an effect on the household finances if there’s no short term disability money coming in. If Nicky wanted to help out his cousin, he’d set up a separate Gofundme for him, but he’s not doing that. Instead, he’s using it as yet another excuse why he needs money from strangers.
Sole breadwinner? They’re fucked if they have to rely on Nikita to pay the bills.
As an insider I can say that his cousin is receiving short term disability and makes more in a week that Nick brings in in a month. Nick will never be a sole bread winner with his $710 a month. Do not believe what Nick says. The house is divided into almost like apartments his cousins family lives upstairs and both his cousin and his wife make their own money and pay their own bills. His cousins surgery has nothing to do with Nick period.
Okay. Didn’t realize there was more than one paycheck in the house. Still, you’re right — the surgery has nothing to do with Nick (although he is shamelessly using it in an attempt to raise money for himself).
That said, I hope the recovery period goes well.
Oh I didn’t mean to be rude at all, if it came across that way I’m sorry. Nicks uncle brings in a pension and social security, his cousin has a great job as well as his new wife. Everyone shares the bills and Nicks uncle has even been paying Nicks share because he’s always over drafting his account on we don’t know what. I feel terrible for his uncle having to foot the bill for Nick. His cousin does as well by paying now over half the bills.
Oh, not at all; it didn’t sound rude in the least. Nick never mentioned that his cousin remarried, so I assumed it was just the three guys, and we knew his Uncle was retired.
It’s obvious Nick’s been blowing his SSDI on things other than electric and garbage bills. He’s mentioned renewing paid website subscriptions for places that offer free ones, and the $50 Twilight Zone hoodie he’s so proud of, but other than that, who knows? He claims he owes the garbage hauler, the electric company, and now PayPal. It’s hard to tell what’s real, and what’s not, but it’s believable that he keeps overdrawing his account(s), because it’s been a perpetual theme over the years.
…
Probably a bit redundant of me to mention this, but those are some seriously ugly photos he’s taken.
Indeed. He looks like a displeased potato that got sticky and then fell in some hair. And his fondness for taking low-angle photos of himself says all kinds of things a psychologist could have fun talking about.
