Somebody bought the pacione.com domain. It’s nothing as of yet, beyond a stock template page announcing that the site will be “coming soon.” A WHOIS search shows the registrar as register.com in Madeira, Portugal, with an expiration date in November 2009.
It appears to be hosted at the Google server farm in Mountain View. It’s been moved around a few times since it was originally registered in 1999, so it’s possible the current owner isn’t the original owner.
I wonder how long it’ll take Peaches to demand that it be handed over to him. I’ve no idea why I only now got a Google alert for it.
On another note, if you haven’t already seen Devil-childe’s latest entry at DeviantArt, you should go read it. It’s pretty funny.
They might give it to him if he pays for it… Which is unlikely (although I couldn’t be sure of that. He might pay for a website. *Shrug*)
Nicky wouldn’t pay for it. We’ve been through this before. Janrae used to own a domain name with pacione in it, and gave Nicky ample warning about when it was going to expire. It expired and went through a three-month waiting period before it became available.
It sat available for another two or three months before I bought it. Nicky was furious, and tried to bully the legal team at my web host into shutting down the site, and when that didn’t work, he demanded they turn over the domain name and control of it to him. Not only was he unwilling to pay for the domain name, but also he expected me to pay for hosting it. Needless to say, he got nowhere with the legal team.
Nickolaus-pacione.com expired a few months ago, and is now available, but Nicky won’t buy it. He’ll just bitch and complain when someone does buy it, then demand the owner give it to him for free.
Given that he treats his SSDI like pin money, and he mooches off granny for food and shelter, I can’t see him spending $5 a month to have it hosted somewhere.
It’d be even funnier if it was some guy with the same last name who had claim to it for the same reasons Nicky thinks he does. I’d like to see what he’d say to, for example, Mike Pacione, mild-mannered reporter, who’s using the domain to host family pics.
I have been amusing myself going through the PDF of “An Eye in Shadows” and searching for words and phrases! You might be interested to learn . . .

Sphinx,
You have a much stronger stomach than I do!
Nickolaus-pacione.com expired a few months ago, and is now available
Not anymore.
I had reason to buy my first domain name a few days ago. Controlling the name and hosting for two years cost whopping total of $14.95. Included with that are some basic site building tools and web-based email.
Now I’m rich or anything, but $7.50 a year just doesn’t seem like that much cash to me. You can also pair up similar names – like domains with dashes or ending in .org and .info – for like 99 cents apiece.
So, theoretically, Nickypoo could work at minimum wage for about three hours per year and lock up all the available variations of pacione.
Sorry make that NOT rich or anything.
Funny you should say that, Lincoln. There is a Holly Pacione who is a professional photographer, who uses her blog for posting photos. But, if memory serves me correctly, it’s hosted at Blogspot. Then, there’s an Adam Pacione, who is a musician. I get Google alerts for them every once in a while, along with ones for Nicky. There’s also a Ricky Pacione who is (or was) a student at Marist on the baseball team . . . might have run track as well.
I checked on a domain name my brother registered and hosted for me, although I maintained it myself. It was registered in his name for 10 years. It looks as if I may have to let it expire in 2011, and purchase it when it becomes available. Having died last Fall, he can’t transfer the registration to me. Actually, there is a very similar name available, so I may decide to purchase that instead.
Adam,
Where did you get that hosting package? I have a minor domain name I’m thinking about registering.

Steve,
I registered it over at godaddy.com a week or so ago. They were running a special at the time, but I think it’s still going on. After you register it, you just go into your account and redeem the vouchers for free webmail and site building tools (up to five pages I believe).
Adam
LOL at Alice. Are you going to do anything with it, other than keep it parked? I’m fairly certain that Brian just kept it parked when he owned it, but even that was enough to incur the wrath of Pacione.
I’d like to use it to link Pacione-related sites. May I have your permission to link to The Rusty Nail?
Absolutely. Go right ahead. Feel free to add a link to nickolausapacione.com as well. That’s the parody site I run, that Nicky wanted turned over to him. I really should go update it, come to think of it.
Nicky’s entitlement mentality is insane.
I was the first one to grab one of the pacione domain names and suggested it to others at Niction.
At this point, I own something like thirteen domain names, all more or less related to what I write. It is not expensive to get them or maintain them.
Nicky has no excuse for screaming about others getting them.
He doesn’t need an excuse to act like a baby. It just comes naturally.
Yeah, Tourette’s is funny that way.
More like narcissism…
I didn’t buy pacione.com.
I also didn’t buy the domains with his name either .org or .net like I said I would earlier this year (things got a little hectic). But…it’s still not too late.

“For those looking for the big day, it’s been scheduled for July 24th. For those looking for sneak previews, I only have a teaser to offer you at this time… with my thanks, my love, my gratitude… and a prophetic guarantee that two people will become famous from this forthcoming interview…
With that said, if you have any requests, edits, rejections, acceptances, fan mail, hate mail, sex toys, or booze, please send them in to me by July 20th if possible. Once again, the procedure is on July 24th. Wish me good luck!”
Whoa! Stand back! Two people, one of them Daggy I presume, will become famous from an interview in a for the luv magazine! Amazing!
I wonder if the other person is Pacioni…
Hell, if one could become famous from this, then we shold all be jockeying for an interview…
OOOH! Pick me! I are best fiction writer EVAR! OH! OOH!
No yous not. I is best friction writar!
Noes, me am the bestestestest!!!!!!!??!!!
Ima got yous all beatened, cuz I’s da worstest evah. And that does seem to be the main criterion. Just sayin’.
I wonder if he’s confusing “famous” with “sued”
All right, that’s too much. I’ll ask what many have already asked – May I link to the ‘Nail, Rusty?
Go ahead. The only time I object to someone linking here, is when it’s one of the Nitwits on Silverthought or WoW trying to incite the others to raid Rusty, which usually backfires, anyway.
Famous, infamous, laughingstock, hey, whatever works for ya.
